Insurance Options

Scanlon Family Dental is an in-network Delta Dental Premier Provider and an in-network Cigna Dental Provider.
We also accept all major insurances and COBRA. Please note that the differences in coverage between in-network and out-of-network can vary based on your individual policy. Please call and speak to one of our patient care or insurance coordinators to determine how your insurance plan aligns with our practice offerings.

What is Dental Insurance?

Dental insurance helps pay for the cost of dental services and treatments and is usually separate from your medical health insurance.

What does Dental Insurance Cover?

The vast majority of dental insurance plans cover the costs of preventive care (routine exams, hygiene cleanings, and different types of x-rays at certain intervals). Many others also offer coverage for basic restorative services up to an annual limit.

There are full-coverage dental plans that cover a broader range of basic and major procedures, but they would be the exception — not the rule.

How do you still see and serve people if they are out-of-network?

When your dental insurance provider is outside of our network, we will have our administrative team file a claim on your behalf to your insurance provider. This will allow you to maximize as much coverage as possible with us and minimize your out-of-pocket expenses (plus we do the leg work!).

The remaining balance would be your responsibility and can vary in size and scope, so calling ahead and getting a full understanding from our coordinators prior to care is important.
