Scanlon Family Dental offers family, general, and cosmetic dentistry care to patients throughout the St. Charles and St. Peters areas. Our locally owned practice is deeply rooted in the community, with a patient base spanning more than 50 years and a legacy office that has stood the test of time at the ever-growing junction of Highway 94 and the Page Extension.

Our goal is to provide exceptional treatment and personalized maintenance plans to help you achieve healthy teeth and gums — so you can smile with confidence.

Practice History

Our practice began in the early 1970s as Bridwell and Cavanaugh in Florissant, Missouri, where it quickly earned a strong reputation as an honest business led by caring dentists. As word spread and more families chose us for their dental care, the need for growth became clear. In 1974, an additional office was opened in St. Peters, Missouri.

A few years later, Dr. John Scanlon joined the team as an Associate Dentist to help meet the increasing demand. His gentle approach to dentistry quickly endeared him to both patients and colleagues, ultimately leading to his appointment as Partner in 1981.

The practice then became known as Bridwell, Cavanaugh, and Scanlon and, through the years and subsequent retirements, eventually transitioned to Cavanaugh and Scanlon, the name under which it operated throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

In 2011, Dr. John Scanlon wished his longtime business partner a happy retirement and welcomed a new Associate Dentist (that made changing the name of the practice to Scanlon Family Dental an easy decision): his daughter, Dr. Cory (née Scanlon) Glowczewski. While the reputation and wholesome patient-first philosophy built over decades remained firmly intact, the practice also experienced a refresh as Dr. Cory brought a fun, engaging, and modern approach to caring for patients and their families.

As we have since wished Dr. John Scanlon his own well-earned retirement, our team continues to carry forward the legacy he helped build . . . by adding new technology, dental techniques, and even more patients through the merger of Dr. Robert Wheeler’s dental practice in 2025!

Today, Dr. Cory Glowczewski leads an exceptional clinical staff of dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and patient care coordinators who are committed to providing outstanding dental care with a personal Missouri touch!

Meet The Doctors

Cory S. Glowczewski, D.D.S.

Better known around the office as “Dr. Cory,” Dr. Glowczewski (née Scanlon) graduated from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry in May 2011. She immediately began practicing alongside her father, Dr. John Scanlon, as an Associate Dentist in the St. Peters office and in one of our former locations in Florissant.

Now in her 15th year of practice, Dr. Cory is honored to serve as the owner of Scanlon Family Dental and is proud to carry forward the legacy of the great dentists that have served our patients for over 50 years. It is easy to see that she is deeply committed to providing her patients with honest, high-quality dental care delivered with compassion, while fostering a positive, respectful, and enthusiastic environment for her team.

Dr. Cory is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cory enjoys cooking, running, staying active, and participating in local theatre, both as an attendee and performer. She loves exploring the city of St. Louis and is a devoted sports fan, proudly cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and the Missouri Tigers. Her greatest joy is her family: her husband, Ryan, and their three children.

Robert J. Wheeler, D.M.D.

I was born in Idaho and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I graduated from the University of Utah and then moved to St. Louis to attend Washington University Dental School. After graduating, I served as a Dentist in the Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska.

Upon discharge from the military, I returned to the St. Louis area working in Ferguson and Florissant. In 2010, I moved my practice to St. Charles merging with Dr. Ladue and have practiced in the area ever since. I’m a father of five children and a grandfather of 18.

I’m so excited to be merging with Dr. Cory Glowczewski and Scanlon Family Dental, so my patients and staff can be handled by honest and ethical hands.

With a combined range of three to more than forty years of clinical experience, each hygienist is committed to delivering exceptional care at every visit. We are passionate about what we do, and your oral health is always our top priority. Through personalized, honest care and patient education, we strive to support a lifetime of healthy smiles. As dental hygiene continues to evolve with new techniques and advanced instrumentation, our team carefully evaluates each patient to provide the ideal balance of thoroughness, comfort, and effectiveness—ensuring every visit is both gentle and precise.

DENTAL ASSISTANTS

At Scanlon Family Dental, our dental assistants are an essential part of the exceptional care we provide each day. From the moment you are welcomed into our office to the smooth and efficient flow of your appointment, our assistants play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience. With their friendly attitudes, extensive training, and years of hands-on experience, patients can feel confident knowing they are in capable and caring hands. Our dental assistants are dedicated to supporting you throughout your visit—maintaining a clean and organized environment, working closely with our doctors, and ensuring that every question is answered and every treatment plan is clearly explained. Above all, they bring a balance of professionalism, warmth, and genuine care to every interaction, helping make each visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

Our administrative team works diligently both at the front desk and behind the scenes to ensure every patient experience is smooth, welcoming, and stress-free. We believe exceptional customer service is an essential part of every dental visit—not an extra. From answering your non-clinical questions to scheduling appointments as promptly as possible, our team is committed to supporting you every step of the way. We strive to be transparent with fees and insurance coverage by pre-authorizing treatments and working closely with insurance providers and referring offices, so there are no surprises. Many of our team members have been part of the Scanlon Family Dental family for decades, watching children grow and families flourish. We take pride in building lasting relationships and treating every patient with the same care, respect, and attention we would give to our own family.
